The morning begins here...

Only 10 minutes from both Oakland and Berkeley, you'll feel like you're hours away. This is just one of the forest views from our retreat site, where the fresh scent of eucalyptus and evergreens permeate the air.

When you arrive, warm the chill of morning with a cup of traditional hot chai while you meet your fellow students. The tea is infused with fragrant, delicious spices that can help you feel more clear, grounded, and attentive.

Discover an easeful and effective sitting technique, personalized so it works for YOU. We’ll also help you resolve common challenges and frustrating misconceptions about meditation practice.

Expand presence and awareness in your life with mindful speaking, walking, & eating.

And Lastly...

Delight in a fresh, local, organic 4-course mindful meal. (Here's a sample of food served at past workshops!)

We’ll be practicing silent mindful eating in the beautiful outdoors, serenaded by birdsong.


About the Instructor

Shivani Ray is a meditation teacher and performing artist. Born into an ancient meditation and Yoga tradition, she has been teaching meditation since 2001, and has taught thousands of people to date. Her areas of special focus are creative inspiration, sacred intuition, and embodied instinct. As a teacher, she strives to protect the purity and integrity of ancient wisdom while also applying it practically to every day modern life. Shivani is a member of the California Bar and holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. from UC Berkeley.

She is the founder of Key Meditation and publishes a twice-monthly newsletter on mindfulness at her web site.
